Reading Classes
Grades K– 6th
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
How it Works
Step 1
Register for a class and complete an entry assessment with Jenai. This places your child in the most appropriate class based on their current reading skills.
Step 2
Based on the assessment your child will be placed in a small group of no more than 5 students.
Step 3
Once registration is confirmed you’ll be sent a class Zoom link and have access to the Google Classroom resources to practice the concepts each week independently.
Beginner
This class teaches letter names and sounds, how to blend and write simple words, and read beginning decoding books, and sight words.
Intermediate
Students learn how to read words that have beginning and ending blends, and vowel blends, read and write sentences with those words, begin syllabication lessons, read decoding books, and sight words.
Advanced
This class teaches students higher-level vowel patterns, prefixes, suffixes, writing more complex sentences, syllabication, reading decoding books, sight words and fluency.

FAQs
How does tuition work?
Below you can find the monthly price you would pay based on the amount of hours your child is serviced each week. This is a set rate that includes 6 weeks off total for the year. The 6 weeks includes 3 weeks off for holidays and Christmas break, 1.5 weeks for tutor days off and vacation, plus 1.5 weeks for student days off and vacation.
What are the benefits?
With this structure, when a family calls off, they simply are using one of their built-in days. When they take a week off for vacation or summer camp, they are doing the same. If you go over that amount, please understand that you will lose paid-for sessions.
As a tutor, I also have built-in days or weeks I can take, without it affecting my income. There is no rescheduling unless both parties want to do so, to preserve a day off for another time. This also eliminates the need for make-up sessions offered for missed days which can be a burden to everyone’s schedule.
Predictability: You can rest assured that your charge will be the same each month, that you already have built-in days off that you can use, and that holidays are also accounted for within it.
Will our session be a full hour?
Most students struggle working through a full hour online. I teach in 30 minute blocks so an hour session will be broken into two sessions per week. The above pricing chart will go into effect beginning January 1, 2025. If your student will need a schedule change based on the above chart please contact me so we can update their session times/days.
Is there a discount for siblings?
There is a 30% discount for each additional sibling with a per-hour rate. However, you are paying for an hour. You can also choose to break up the hour into 30-minute sessions for two siblings. In this case, they would only get seen once per week. It depends on how much practice and consistency you would like each child to have, but I do want to offer that as an option.
What are your Payment Policies?
Tuition for the entire month will be paid on the first day of the month. Invoices are sent via email. You may pay online via PayPal invoicing, arrange online payment via your bank, or Zelle to the email address jenaisolano@gmail.com (Business name Solano SPED Tutoring). Please let me know if you want to set up automatic monthly payments via PayPal. Parents Paying through charter school funds or with ESA funds will be the only exceptions, as they often have different timelines for fulfilling purchase orders.
Tutoring is suspended, if not paid by the first scheduled session of the month, until payment is made.
Invoices are sent via Paypal 1 week before the first of each month.
A $10 late fee will be added to next month’s bill if payment is not received on the first.
If you plan to discontinue services, please provide two weeks’ notice before next month’s payment is due, if you would like a final wrap-up or progress evaluation, I can provide you with a final written progress report. If less than 2 weeks’ notice is given, you have the option to pay for an additional two weeks of services for the final wrap-up, progress evaluation, and written report.
